EUR/USD Currency Pair

By AHmad Hassam

EUR/USD is the most heavily traded currency pair in the global currency markets at the moment. Trading currencies can be exciting and lucrative. Its a great market because of the way politics affect the trends. Elections, strikes, and sudden developments, both good and bad, can lead to significant trading profits if you stand ready to trade the euro is a convenient currency because it encompasses the policies and the economic activity and political environment of a volatile but predictable part of the world: Europe.

Inflation is not good for any economy. Most central banks fight inflation by increasing or decreasing interest rates in the markets. In the United States, where the free-market approach and a usually vigilant Federal Reserve make more frequent adjustments on interest rates. France, Italy, and Germany, the largest members of the European Union (EU), normally operate under high budget deficits and tend to keep their interest rates more stable.

The general tendency of the Fed is to make the dollar trend for very long periods of time in one general direction. Aside from the technical analysis, here are some general tendencies of the euro on which you need to keep tabs:

1) Given Germanys history of hyperinflation in the first half of the 20th century and the repercussions of that period, namely the rise of Hitler, the European Central Bank (ECB) is almost fanatical about inflation. That means that the European Central Bank raises interest rates more easily than it lowers them.

- The European Central Banks actions become important when all other factors are equal, meaning politics are equally stable or unstable in the United States and Europe, and the two economies are growing. For example, if the U.S. economy is slowing down, money slowly starts to drift away from the dollar. In the past that meant money would move toward the Japanese yen; however, because the market knows that Japans central bank will sell yen, the default currency when the dollar weakens is often now the euro.

3) EUR/USD currency pair is heavily influenced by the political developments in the Eurozone. The flip side is that the market becomes jittery and often sells the euro during political problems in the region, especially when the European economy is slowing. These types of trends are minor in nature and tend to wither out with the calming of the political situations. However, day trader and the swing traders want to benefit from these minor trends. These minor trends can be highly profitable.

As usual, you want to closely monitor major currencies and the cross rates. Its okay to form an opinion and have some expectations, but the final and only truth that should make you trade is what the charts are showing you. The direction that counts is the one in which the market is heading.

It is always best to choose only two or three currency pairs and become a specialist in them. Two currency pairs that I would recommend for you are the EUR/USD and the GBP/USD. Both these currency pairs are highly liquid and very popular among the currency traders. Fundamental analysis can help you determine the strong/weak currency pair. Use fundamental analysis to determine if USD is expected to lose value and EUR is expected to gain more strength that means that the currency pair EUR/USD is perfectly timed for swing trading. Use technical analysis to make the entry and exit decision. Combining fundamental analysis with the technical analysis can give you the edge as a forex trader. Sometimes there is a fundamental shift in the direction of a currency pair. As long as you are not following a currency pair like EUR/USD on the daily basis, you wont be able to understand what is happening. - 23162

The Forex Trading Market Is Making The Average Investor Extremely Wealthy!

By Howard G. Platt 111

The Forex Trading industry has experienced tremendous growth over the past few years. If you are new to the world of investing the Forex is the global market where the trading of the various currencies from nations all over the world takes place. Just as the New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ investors feverishly trade stocks on a daily bases, investors in the foreign exchange market known as the Forex, trade currency.

Forex Trading is typically carried out through a broker. Unlike NYSE the Forex market runs non-stop 24 hours per day 5 days a week. Foreign currencies are sold across local and global markets and it flows as one continuous action where currencies are bought and sold constantly. What's so unique about the foreign exchange market is that the market reacts almost instantly based upon real time events. This is what makes the market so volatile and an investors value fluctuate so quickly.

As an investor trading in the Forex requires excellent timing skills as the main objective is to profit through the trading of the many currencies based upon the constant movements in the market. Forex trading is always done in pairs and the investors profit is dependent upon the increase or decrease in value of the two currencies involved. Say an investor purchased 100 Euros and the rate at the time of purchase was 1.075, the investor would pay $107.50 US but then two hours later some bad economic news hit the European market causing the devalue of the Euro thus changing the rate to .75 the investors investment value has now dropped from $107.50 US to $75 US. In Forex Trading the "rate" is short for the "Forex Rate" and this rate is calculated between which ever two currencies are being traded.

Forex Trading attracts a variety of traders for a number of reasons, the strongest being the potential to earn massive profits within a short amount of time. There is also the leverage that can be achieved due to the low margin requirements. The Forex is an extremely large market with all the nations that are involved and this causes a fair amount of volatility. This volatile nature gives way for the potential of earning large profits on a single trade. Another advantage of the Forex is that it is not dependent upon our local or national economy which increases the investment opportunities for the traders. The ability to have zero commission trades for the short term trading draws in a lot of investors.

Trading Forex still carries the same ultimate goal of other types of investing and that being to have made a significant profit in the end. Where Forex Trading differs is in the investors intent to actually take possession of the investment that was purchased. Forex trades are based more on speculation that the purchased currency will grow in value in relation to the currency used to make the purchase and once a target margin is achieved the currency will be sold off once again.

Entire businesses are built around the concept of being able to analyze the market and predict future movements. There are well known expert traders that have a huge following of traders that trust in them and these individuals make millions by analyzing the markets and sending out recommendations.

The Forex trader may analyze the market in a number of ways hoping to be able to predict the movements in the market. Some traders will focus on the fundamentals of the market and that just means that they are basing their trades on what is currently taking place in the economies around the world. Another popular method for analyzing the market is the technical approach and this is where an investor will study the history of the market through the use of graphs that map out the past movements.

The popularity of Forex Trading has grown tremendously over the past few years. The fast action and the capital required to trade in the Forex kept the less experienced trader from entering the market. However, due to the huge advancements in technology and the birth of the Forex Trading Robots there are more individual traders in the market than ever before. - 23162

Everyone Has Lost Money In This Economic Downturn

By Jesse Astolos

Almost everyone who has money in the stock market has lost money in the last year and a half. This makes it difficult to get any confidence back and have any faith that the market will go up again. Having it go down so far and so fast has probably unnerved quite a few investors.

Getting the confidence to put more money in the market after having it perform so poorly is something that does not come easily. After all, whos to say it wont just turn around and go back down again? Figuring out a good reentry point is something that seasoned investors would have a much better chance of figuring out than the beginner. However, we do know that at some point, it will be the correct time to start buying again.

When you buy more stock at lower prices than you already own some shares, it is called averaging down. For instance, if you own 100 shares of ABC corp. at $100 a share and then you buy 100 more shares at $50 after it has gone down, you will now own 200 shares at an average price of $75.00. You will have averaged down the price of your shares. This is what we will all be doing when we buy back into the market.

Any expert in the stock market will preach about the importance of stock diversification when you do get back in. What that entails is spreading your bets around on a variety of stocks rather than putting all your eggs in one basket. This is important because you want to protect yourself from picking one really bad stock and then losing most or even all of your money.

In a down market like we have had now for over a year however, there is nothing that could have prevented you from losing as all stocks have gone down. Stock diversification is always a good idea but it does not mean that you are protected from losing money. Almost everyone is in the same boat and we are all down. Pretty soon it will be time to get back in and those that have the guts and the money will end up profiting. - 23162

Saving Your Home Or Money By Refinancing

By James Weekson

If you are dealing with stressful times and have a mortgage in existence you need to try hard not to have your lender foreclose on your property as it is bad. Not to do anything only makes your debt worse since the interest will be compounded. There is a better option to try and that is refinancing.

In simple terms, refinancing means taking out a second mortgage to pay-off an existing mortgage. Although in recent terms, it is not always the case, refinancing has been conceived as a strategy for troubled debt restructuring, as it allows your creditors to collect on an otherwise bad debt, at the same time allowing the debtors some debt relief.

Under these circumstances, a refinance is achieved through tweaking the factors of interest - principal, rate and repayment period. When you apply to refinance your mortgage, the present value of the loan is calculated. This new principal sum would typically include the portion of the original loan principal remaining unpaid, interest that have accrued, plus any applicable surcharges.

Once the new principal is fixed then you need to negotiate a new interest rate and most often the rates allowed will depend upon the current market averages. The market rates always fluctuate, but refinancing is usually a good move when the rates are low. If refinancing is done in order to restructure debt that is causing trouble, then the interest rate is negotiable regardless of what the conditions on the market are.

It is favorable, no matter what, if you refinance and get a lower interest rate than you had previously since the monthly payments will be more affordable for the debtor. The creditors make up the difference by giving a longer repayment time when the market rates are up.

Something you need not think twice about is that your lender is going to profit on the interest over the life of the refinanced mortgage since in the end if your previous mortgage was in trouble and with the refinancing you managed to maintain ownership of your home being the monthly payments were lower, it was well worth it.

Recently, though, refinancing mortgages now has a different meaning for those who own a home. Even though refinancing is mostly a way of restructuring a troubled mortgage, there are those who use it as a way to save on interest payments. The same factors still play a role in this case and they are the interest rates, repayment period and principal loan amount.

To save on interest costs, homeowners renegotiate an existing mortgage to take advantage of low interest rates or to shorten the repayment terms, if they can comfortably afford to make higher monthly payments. Holding all things equal, this situation still favors the bank or mortgage company as it speeds up repayment and reduces the risk of defaults and foreclosures. Banks, especially, prefer cash to inventories because it costs more to keep and maintain properties than to use cash. - 23162
